Contact: Babs Smith RIDE THE SNAKE: THE AFTERLIFE OF PRINCE ANKA New York City, New York, May 1, 2006 - National Explorer, International Exhibits and Stranger Than Fiction Productions are proud to present Ride the Snake: The Afterlife of Prince Anka, an exhibition of more than 150 treasures from the tomb of the most well-endowed royal of all time. Rumors abound that Prince Anka, half-brother of King Tutankhamun (King Tut), had Tut killed in order to avoid being killed himself. King Tut made no secret of his jealousy over Anka's endowment, scratching in a parchment diary, Anka puts me to shame. All the ladies flock to him during orgies, leaving me to pleasure myself. I want him dead. Even in the afterlife, Anka's fame and popularity continue to outreach those of Tut's. Although the discovery of Tut's tomb by Howard Carter in 1922 was a much celebrated historical find, it was quickly overshadowed in 1927, when Edwin Manka stumbled upon Anka's spacious and treasure-stuffed final resting place and titillated the world. Visitors will experience a day in the go-go lifestyle of a young Egyptian royal during the Golden Age of the Pharaohs. The exhibition first draws visitors back in time to Anka's bedroom as it may have existed so many millenium ago. People will see a replica of Anka's bed and come face-to-face with interpretors dressed as Anka and a vast array of concubines, virgins and wealthy benefactors - all of them vying for Anka's attention. Visitors will then walk the sandy streets of Thebes, greeting interpretors dressed as Anka's peers and stopping off for a quick drink of hqt (beer). The exhibit moves on to a dazzling display of Anka artifacts including carved genital rests, precious jewels, statues and shreds of a silk smoking jacket worn by Anka. The centerpiece is the mummified remains of Anka alongside a gold inlaid canopic coffinette containing his mummified male organ. Although shriveled with roughly 3,500 years of age, this organ still measures well over fourteen inches! Ride the Snake: The Afterlife of Prince Anka is a traveling exhibit appropriate for adults ages 18 and up. This once-in-a-lifetime experience is available for booking beginning June 2006. A price sheet and consultation with your organization is available upon request by contacting Babs Smith at 555.555.1111 or e-mailing babssmith@prforanka.com. .
